Estimator | Alberta Full Time | Permanent

Our client, a well established General Contractor operating across Alberta, is looking for an experienced Estimator to join their growing team.

What you will be doing:

• Solicit, review and level subcontractor and material supply quotes
• Prepare accurate and complete estimates including quantity takeoffs, unit pricing and subcontractor pricing
• Maintain subcontractor and supplier relationships
• Prepare proposals and estimates for management approval prior to client submission
• Confer with Engineers, Architects and Owners on changes and adjustments to cost estimates
• Prepare risk mitigation plans and manage risks impacting estimates
• Participate in client meetings, project interviews and project team meetings
• Maintain unit price and productivity knowledge and database
• Mentor and assist in training junior estimating staff
• Maintain and upgrade estimating software as required

What you bring:

• Post secondary certificate or degree in Engineering or Construction related discipline
• 5+ years of estimating experience in general construction
• Expert knowledge of estimating software — InEight is an asset
• Proficient with Word, Excel, Bluebeam, OST and Microsoft Scheduler
• Ability to perform accurate quantity takeoffs manually and electronically
• Strong understanding of subcontractor work scopes and tendering
• Experience with lean construction principles
• Operations experience as a Project Coordinator or Project Manager is an asset
• Strong leadership, communication and mentoring skills
